Stage 2 Swing Set Steering Front Bulkhead from JEHC
The Stage 2 Bulkhead is the perfect starting point for your next tube chassis project or grafting on the front end of your current truck. From race trucks to luxury pre-runners the JEHC Platforms are designed to be fabrication friendly, taking the guess work out of complex suspension setup and geometry.
Stage 2 refers to the style of the components in this assembly, everything in this Front end is setup for laser cutting and CNC bending, something that a competent laser house can easily accomplish. Designed for 4130, these parts usually are TIG welded although some has MIG welded them.
This Stage 2 Front end is designed with swing set steering for those who prefer the feedback and driving experience of a setup like this over a traditional steering rack. The shock tower is removable for ideal setups on luxury prerunners but if you prefer a non-removable shock tower that variant is also available.
All of the Arms, Uprights, and Bulkhead is designed in a simple “snap together” fashion for a very fabrication friendly setup and includes fixtures for the main components.

Stage 2 Swinger Steering Arm and Bulkhead Component Specs:
Bulkhead – All plate construction with various thicknesses (1/4”, 3/16”, and 1/8”) and uses sheetmetal weld washers for all bolt hole locations. Setup for the Power Steering Solutions Rack this bulkhead is self-locating (snap together). This setup is designed for Laser House cutting and bending.
Lower Arm – Uses Standard 1” spherical (uni-ball) bearings with Wide cups and 1.5” bearings for the upright side. The cups, spacers, and bearings are available in packs from JEHC under the “Hard Parts” section of the site.
Upper Arm – Uses 7/8” Rod ends with Standard Square receivers (bungs) with the same 1.5” bearing for the upright as the lower arm.
Upright – Uses a Standard 12 bolt face plate available here on Diyoffroad.com or other suppliers. The spacers and bearing packs are also available from DIY, however various other components can be easily interchanged.
Trackwidth – We have three different trackwidth options for this platform…. Fullsize (91”+), Midsize (88”+), and Narrow 86” range. Custom or unique WMS setups are available upon request.
Shocks / Wheel Travel – This Fullsize setup is designed to run 14” stroke shocks side by side. Wheel travel is optimized at 24” usable, 25” metal to metal. Midsize is also setup for 14” shocks yielding about 23” usable and 24” metal to metal. The Narrow setup will yield about 21” of usable with 12” shocks.
Steering Setup – This Bulkhead is designed for a long sector shaft steering box from Power steering solutions along with a 2” ram from ID designs, or other steering rams similar in sizing.
Hubs and Brakes – This platform utilizes standard 12 bolt faceplates for a variety of bolt on hub options from standard 2.5” up to TT assemblies.
Tires and Wheels – Depends on the hub setup you utilize but the uprights are optimized for 39-42 tires, 37” will work but that is the lowest tire size we suggest running on this front end. For the narrow setup most will end up running 37” tires.
Bulkhead Rake – This setup is designed for 4 deg of rake in the bulkhead with consistent caster through travel.
