Frequently Asked Questions

What hub setups do these files cover, or do I have to mod them for my own hubs?

The hub plates are already drawn for 934 4-piston, 934 6-piston, and PC Micro stub setups, so you've got options right out of the box. Just keep in mind trackwidth lands around 84-86" depending on which hubs and wheels you run.

Are these just DXF cut files or do I get models too so I can tweak stuff?

You get the full package — SolidWorks models and drawings, IGES and E-drawing models, the laser-cut DXFs, plus 2D and 3D PDFs. So if you want to tweak anything before you cut, you've got the native files to work with.

How much rear wheel travel can I expect out of this setup once it's built?

It's designed for roughly 20" of wheel travel, though that'll vary a bit depending on the axles and hubs you end up running. If you're shooting for a specific number, email us and we can talk through your build.

How do I get the Class 10 / Sandrail Rear Suspension after I buy it?

These are digital — soon as your payment goes through you get a download link for the DXF cut files. Nothing physical ships.

How much does the Class 10 / Sandrail Rear Suspension cost?

The Class 10 / Sandrail Rear Suspension is $400.00.

Do you have Race/Play Chassis Components cut files for an off-road or race build?

Yeah — DIY Off Road carries downloadable DXF cut files across Race/Play Chassis Components, including Tube Chassis Buggies and Components, all designed by working fab shops. Browse the Race/Play Chassis Components section or email us and we will help you track down the right files.

Can you point me to a shop to get these cut and bent?

Yeah — if you don't have your own CNC plasma, laser, or waterjet, shoot us an email and we'll send over a few shops that can cut (and press/bend) the parts so you can weld them up.

How do I get the files, and what do I do with them?

Soon as your payment goes through you get a download link for the DXF cut files. You (or a shop) cut them from steel on a plasma, laser, or waterjet, bend whatever needs it, then weld them into your build. Nothing physical ships.

Do I need to know how to weld and fab to use these?

Yep — these are cut files for DIY and pro fabrication. A lot of the parts are "plasma table friendly" (flat plate, no bends) to make cutting and assembly easier, but you'll need to cut and weld them in yourself, or have a shop handle it.
