Frequently Asked Questions

Will these files fit my squarebody Blazer or Suburban too, or just the pickups?

These are designed for the '81-'87 K-Series GM trucks and SUVs, so the Blazer and Suburban are covered along with the pickups. If you've got something outside that range, email us and we'll see if it'll work for your build.

Do I get the tube for this or do I have to source my own?

You source your own tube — this kit is built to use 2" OD tubing for the main tube and 1.5" OD for the lower tube. You're buying the DXF cut files for the plate work, so run those on your plasma table and grab your tube locally.

Is this a weld-together kit or does it bolt on?

It's a fabricated builder kit, so you'll be cutting the plate from the DXF files, bending your tube, and welding it all together into a finished bumper. Plan on a plasma table and a welder to get this one done.

How do I get the '81-'87 K-Series Fabricated Front Winch Bumper after I buy it?

These are digital — soon as your payment goes through you get a download link for the DXF cut files. Nothing physical ships.

How much does the '81-'87 K-Series Fabricated Front Winch Bumper cost?

The '81-'87 K-Series Fabricated Front Winch Bumper is $25.00.

Do you have Bumpers, Frame Horns, and Body Mounts cut files for an off-road or race build?

Yeah — DIY Off Road carries downloadable DXF cut files across Bumpers, Frame Horns, and Body Mounts, including Fabricated Bumpers, all designed by working fab shops. Browse the Bumpers, Frame Horns, and Body Mounts section or email us and we will help you track down the right files.

Can you point me to a shop to get these cut and bent?

Yeah — if you don't have your own CNC plasma, laser, or waterjet, shoot us an email and we'll send over a few shops that can cut (and press/bend) the parts so you can weld them up.

How do I get the files, and what do I do with them?

Soon as your payment goes through you get a download link for the DXF cut files. You (or a shop) cut them from steel on a plasma, laser, or waterjet, bend whatever needs it, then weld them into your build. Nothing physical ships.

Do I need to know how to weld and fab to use these?

Yep — these are cut files for DIY and pro fabrication. A lot of the parts are "plasma table friendly" (flat plate, no bends) to make cutting and assembly easier, but you'll need to cut and weld them in yourself, or have a shop handle it.
