Frequently Asked Questions

What file format does this scan come in, and can I get it in something my CAD software likes better?

It comes as a STEP file, which most CAD programs will open just fine. If you need a different format, shoot us an email at [email protected] and we'll get you sorted.

Is this an actual 3D scan of the cab I can use to mock up my chassis and body mounts?

Yep, this is a real 3D scan of the '72 F250 crew cab delivered as a solid CAD file, so you can pull dimensions and mock up your build around it. Keep in mind it's a digital scan file, not a cut-ready DXF or a physical part.

Will this scan work for a regular cab or other year F250s, or just the '72 crew cab?

This one's scanned off a 1972 F250 crew cab specifically, so that's what it's confirmed for. If you're working on a different cab or year, email us at [email protected] and we'll check if we've got something that fits your build.

How do I get the 1972 Ford F250 CREW CAB Scan CAD Solid File after I buy it?

Can you point me to a shop to get these cut and bent?

Yeah — if you don't have your own CNC plasma, laser, or waterjet, shoot us an email and we'll send over a few shops that can cut (and press/bend) the parts so you can weld them up.

How do I get the files, and what do I do with them?

Soon as your payment goes through you get a download link for the DXF cut files. You (or a shop) cut them from steel on a plasma, laser, or waterjet, bend whatever needs it, then weld them into your build. Nothing physical ships.

Do I need to know how to weld and fab to use these?

Yep — these are cut files for DIY and pro fabrication. A lot of the parts are "plasma table friendly" (flat plate, no bends) to make cutting and assembly easier, but you'll need to cut and weld them in yourself, or have a shop handle it.
