We don't have a recommended material thickness listed for this one, so email us and we'll check with the designer on what it was drawn for. We'd rather get you the right info than have you cut something that won't work for your build.

Yep — these are cut files for DIY and pro fabrication. A lot of the parts are "plasma table friendly" (flat plate, no bends) to make cutting and assembly easier, but you'll need to cut and weld them in yourself, or have a shop handle it.
