Frequently Asked Questions

Is this an actual solid model I can drop into my CAD, or just a flat DXF?

It's a solid STEP file, so you can import it into most CAD programs and build your steering setup around it. It also comes with a geometry block to help you locate and mount the box in your application.

Will this match the 3 bolt Saginaw box on my older GMT truck?

It's scanned from the 3 bolt Saginaw with the triangle pattern found in GMT trucks and SUVs from 1987 on up, mounting to the side of the frame. If you're not sure yours matches, shoot us an email and we'll help you confirm before you buy.

What can I actually use this file for in my build?

It's meant for packaging and mounting that Saginaw box in your own application, so you can design frame mounts and steering layout around an accurate model. It's a digital CAD/STEP asset, not a physical part, so it works great for laying out plates you'll then have cut on a plasma, laser, or waterjet.

Can you point me to a shop to get these cut and bent?

Yeah — if you don't have your own CNC plasma, laser, or waterjet, shoot us an email and we'll send over a few shops that can cut (and press/bend) the parts so you can weld them up.

How do I get the files, and what do I do with them?

Soon as your payment goes through you get a download link for the DXF cut files. You (or a shop) cut them from steel on a plasma, laser, or waterjet, bend whatever needs it, then weld them into your build. Nothing physical ships.

Do I need to know how to weld and fab to use these?

Yep — these are cut files for DIY and pro fabrication. A lot of the parts are "plasma table friendly" (flat plate, no bends) to make cutting and assembly easier, but you'll need to cut and weld them in yourself, or have a shop handle it.
